a week's worth of pictures// Love is an empty barstool

Travelling back to Yiong Siak Street, quiet abode to Plain Vanilla bakery, Books Actually and 40 Hands felt such a comfort amidst bustling schedules. Each time i go back i beckon a different person along, and watch as they immerse themselves in the tinkling atmosphere of copper doorbells, truffle oil and the old printing press.
Yes, Yong Siak has a culture all of its own.
My biggest regret yesterday was not buying the poetry book i have come to know and love through the many times i visited Books Actually. Each visit meant reading a few new poems from Nansi Pooja's Love is an empty barstool, and a nod to old-time favourites who bid me temporary aideu.
Its not often that a poem can read you like a book.
My $16 dollars will be, for now, very much reserved in my pocket to bring this collection of poetry home. This collection of wonder, temporary if not pervasive aroma of infatuation, and quiet understanding is probably my most recommended read to all.
