Stay gold
I spent the last few days at a children's church camp; an endearing experience never to be forgotten.
The simple problems they faced in life, such as complaining about vegetables and
wanting extra free time to play uno with their friends, reminded me about how we
constantly take life for granted. How often have we spent those moments thinking about
the trenches in our lives, tearing ourselves down for what we didnt achieve, and blaming others
for the things we cannot? Unlike us, the children I spent the last few days with were fearless,
they forgave easily, they understood the simple joys in life like pen and paper.
God's greatest gift to us so-called 'grown ups' is certainly the unbiquitous reminder that is
the children in our lives, and perhaps the fact that they teach us what we cannot have taught them:
simple and undeterred joy.
