the hunt is over

So if you're anything like a Japanese food fanatic like i am, you would've long been on the pursuit for the best ramen in Singapore. You know what I'm talking about; thick creamy broth whose flavour just envelopes your mouth, noodles with just the right texture, and the perfect boiled eggs with oozy centres.

A friend recently brought me to Ikkousha Ramen for lunch; tucked in the heart of Chijmes. The first thing i notice when i sat down was a small basket of hard boiled eggs which i later learnt was free flow. Yes, people, free flow eggs all day everyday! It was something like a eureka hallelujah! moment to me.

The prices weren't expensive either for such a decent bowl of ramen ranging from $13-$16. I've had bowls for over $20 which doesn't even come close to this (nor do they serve you a free flow of eggs- free flow- i love saying it). Their concept is simple: completely authentic, basic ramen ingredients each cooked to perfection. The glistening soup sang my stomach lullabies and lulled my foodie soul to heaven. It was a literal love affair from the start.

The hunt is over.
